India Ban 47 More Chinese Apps, Chinese app ban

The 47 apps that were banned by the government's latest decision were called clones of 59 apps that were banned last month.

The government has banned 47 Chinese apps in India. By the end of June, the government had banned 59 Chinese applications for "protecting national interests and security" - including the most popular TikTok app. Another 50 apps are now banned from acting as clones of previously banned apps - the list of specific apps banned in the new decision has not yet been announced. However, it is learned that this announcement will come officially soon. The government has previously banned other applications, including ComScanner, ShareIt and the UC browser. That limitation was declared in accordance with the provisions of Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.

According to a tweet posted by DD News, 47 apps that were banned by the government’s latest decision are running as clones of 59 apps that were banned last month. Government sources quoted India Today TV as saying that the government had also prepared a list of more than 250 apps that would be investigated for any user privacy or national security breaches.

Some top gaming Chinese apps, including PUBG MOBILE  are believed to be part of a new list of banned apps. Details of the development, however, have not yet been released to the government.
